Feeling Very Ill

Not feeling too good at the moment, got a flu'y bug, not good :(. On the work front, its doing good, 132MC is done, just got to uplaod the photos. (for those wanting to know - www.phodefine.co.uk is were to go :)

Scrachpad: 131MC Ethics Group Project

Group projects are a integral part of the university process, the encourage students to interact with their class mates and give them an site into a increasingly important part of the working processes, interaction.
As part of the assessment for this module, it was required to in groups of no more then five, to research the newspaper,magazine or radio station, makes, identify a section not currently filled by the existing products, evaluate it for its possible achievements within the current market, and finally produce a pilot product that could be presented.

This piece will serve as a reflective retrospective as to the issues that were encountered during the project and the possible solutions that could have been applied to those problem spaces.

Initially the group discussed ideas, on no particular subject, rather on generally, although this was not as focused as it could have been it was effective. After a short period we settled on a project revolving around photos. All being avid photographers, we decided to create a website devoted to photography. It was pointed out that these types of areas exist, and fulfill their specifications fully.

Ideas floated around, regarding words, and there relation to photos, after all a photo tells 1000 words. It was decided that the focus of the product should be to define words in a predefined list by taking photographs. This was seen in the group as a good idea, one that would not take much time and that we all could do in such a way not to put too much pressure on our other commitments.

Group dynamics were not taken in consideration as the should have been sos an so would define them as integral to the running of a group, however it was seen that because of the groupies small size (4) this was not important. I feel personally that the group communicated well with a good level of understanding and planning.

The next major section of the project was the first stage of implementation, we had divided out tasks out evenly, personally I had been chosen to design and implement the website, I was fine with this, it was well within my skills, It was agreed that the rest of the group would take the photographs. The site was created using OSS software, and was hosted in my own domain. Therefore reducing the cost.

I personally believe that my contribution to the group was one of high achievement, I was able to helpfully direct the group, and hopefully was able to take everyones views into consideration. I do believe that more could have been done, if we had a longer time span, and perhaps it we had a firmer idea of the end product.

She's Back!

Charli's back! Its awesome! Only for a week but Im going to steal her! All is good :D

Many Days....

Been a while since my lasy update, so I've been up to a lot as of late.

Had Hallmarkday yesterday, normally I don't do anything for it as i dont really see it as a big thing, but this year I thought as Charli's so awesome, that I would take her out to a meal, Dogma to be exact, and treat her. She did know about this, becuse she had to get the time off work,  not that thats a problem now!  

Really enjoyed it, had oysters to begin, didnt like them though. Steak for main's and then chocolate cake for afters. All in all a very nice meal, and comes highly recommended  (if you want to take a look at Dogma, look at Dogma Bars) 

Reading week  this week, so been working away hard, 131MC is now done, just to be recorded, 131MC's Group Project is moving along nicely, pity the groups gone down in size, but not to worry, just a small push to the end and all will be well :)! 132MC hasn't had that much doing with it, I have an article to write, but I will move along with that, when I know what to write!

All in all a good week, and although I'm not looking  to the weekend, I will be back rived for a new week, soon :)

Scrachpad: 131MC: Broadcast Journalism and Ethics Group Project

So we have started our Group project. The aim of the project was to find neice in the market of the world and fill it it with a product. This was not as easy as it seems, mainly due to the face that most thing have already been done! The idea we came up, was based on Dictonay.com's Word of the Day, website. (http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/). This website, provides users with a word from the dictionary, that's it. Our project called "Phodefine", provides photos, along with words.

There have been many people as of late who have asked me the question "

What you going to do now?"

Well I'll tell you what Im going to do. Im going to carry this thing on, and just do my best. Its what I should do. Its for the best.

Also for the record. People who give me and my better half, dirty looks in the street, really should know better, I mean pot, meet kettle.

C-C-C-Changes

New week, and although it doesn't seem like it, a new out look. Iv'e recently realized that the course I'm on isn't what I want to do, and even though its good and all, I really don't want to be a journalist, but, unlike the Computing course, I can study it for enjoyment. Ok I need to pass essays and the like, but I can do that right? Going to go see the careers person on Wednesday, saw a flyer for them in reception to day. Going to ask them what I should do with my life (lol)! All in all its good. Group project for 131, is on the tracks, we have a plan, and a basic stage, Ill write about in a bit. Look out for that!

On a sidenote, Charli's still feeling abit under the weather, hope she gets well soon, miss her smile :).

Contrary to the Matter....

Well its been a while since I've updates this thing, so I thought I'd pop a new one in here.

Last few weeks, have been interesting, blood tests came back all normal, so thats not the problem, doesn't solve the sleep issue though. Uni's going well, group project is getting along good, just the individual thing thats slowing up, need to crack on with it really. Thats for next week.
